HORRY-GEORGETOWN TECHNICAL COLLEGE - ALLIED HEALTH
Interior renovations to the original 1960's building, interior renovations to the 1990's addition and construction of a new Allied Health addition. Incorporating a combination of new construction and renovation to existing spaces to maximize the space while minimizing the costs. To maximize efficiency for teaching in a classroom setting while also providing "hands-on" learning opportunities, lab spaces and classrooms were combined into "mini-suites" with half of the space dedicated to lab areas and half for classroom areas. Students are therefore able to travel from desk to lab within the same room. Shared storage rooms separate the large nursing labs which allow control and security without duplicated spaces. The facility includes training for x-ray technicians, surgical assistants, nursing and general classrooms.
