2009 FIERO Merit Award-winning 5,600 square foot fire station provides increased fire protection response time to the Northwestern portion of Johns Island. It is a drive-through facility and the apparatus bay can accommodate up to 2 trucks. The residential portion of the facility will include bunks for a rotating staff of 8, lockers for full staff, living and kitchen areas, workout room and laundry facility. The exterior will reflect the rural nature of Johns Island as well as the homes surrounding the site.
