“Congratulations for a successful
building...”
Todd Rainwater, Project Manager
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
Division of Engineering
The small towns and
scattered structures surrounding the Francis Marion National Forest
display unassuming architectural qualities. Within this setting, this
9,000 square foot interpretive and environmental center was designed to
house classrooms, exhibit space, an 80 seat theater, offices and a gift
shop. The building reflects a lowcountry coastal image similar to that
of local traditional architecture, with open porches and low sloped
standing seam metal roofs, while maintaining the appearance of a small
structure.
