This private residence on the
Inland Waterway consisted of a weekend retreat with later two story
additions. The owner wished to greatly expand the home but wanted to
maintain its character and complement a caretaker’s cottage on the
property. The original home now serves as an entry and houses a large
corridor which acts as a gallery as well as a link between the owner’s
suite and the living and entertaining areas. After an addition and
reconfiguration the southern two story volume serves as an owner’s
suite. A large pavilion was constructed on the home’s water side and
acts as an entertainment area. The existing kitchen was expanded and
simplified while the owners chose to maintain a separate dining area.
